I grew up on a farm, and when I think back to my childhood, I remember the simple, beautiful rhythm of life. The early mornings, the smell of the earth, and the sense of accomplishment that came from a hard day’s work—it all shaped who I am. Life on the farm taught me responsibility, perseverance, and gratitude for the little things. I learned that growth, whether in crops or in life, takes time, patience, and trust in things beyond our control.
Some of my earliest memories are of my family working together, each of us playing our part. We depended on one another, just as we depended on the changing seasons. That foundation of hard work and family connection stayed with me, guiding me through the years. Even as the world around me changed in ways I never could have imagined, those core values remained constant.
As I grew older, I witnessed events that had a lasting impact on me—moments in history that shaped not only the world but also my perspective. But nothing has influenced me more than the personal experiences that have touched my heart. Above all, my children have been the greatest joy of my life. There is no pride greater than watching your children grow, knowing that in some small way, you have helped shape their journey. When I think about my proudest moments, I don’t think of awards or accomplishments—I think of them.
However, life has not always been easy. One of the hardest and most enduring challenges I have faced is my son’s ongoing health condition. As a mother, nothing prepares you for the heartache of watching your child face a lifetime of medical struggles. It has been a journey filled with fear, uncertainty, and deep concern. Yet through it all, I have clung to my faith more than ever before. I have prayed constantly—sometimes with words, sometimes only with tears. Though I may not understand why this path was ours, I have always known that God walks with us. That trust has been my strength, and I believe it continues to carry us through each day.
Faith has been my foundation, the steady rock beneath me when everything else felt uncertain. Being part of a church community has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. Over the years, I have been surrounded by wonderful people who have offered love, support, and encouragement. We have so many good friends at our church, and their prayers and kindness have lifted me up time and time again. In moments of hardship, I have learned that we are not meant to carry our burdens alone. God works through people, through friendships, through the simple kindness of a shared meal or a quiet prayer.
Faith has not only strengthened me personally but has also shaped my family and marriage. I have learned that love is not just about the joyful moments; it is about standing together through the storms. Marriage is built on many things—trust, patience, laughter—but above all, I believe the key to a strong marriage is respect, honesty, and putting God at the center. When life gets difficult, it is faith that helps us stay strong, holding on to what truly matters.
Friendship has also played a special role in my life. I have been blessed with meaningful relationships, but one in particular stands out—my childhood friend who had severe scoliosis. I remember the challenges she faced, the pain she endured when the steel rod in her back broke. Despite everything, she showed incredible strength and resilience. Watching her go through that experience left a deep impression on me. It reminded me of how fragile life can be, but also how strong the human spirit is. Her journey taught me the importance of empathy, kindness, and being there for others in their times of need.
As I reflect on life, I think about what I hope for my children. More than anything, I want them to live lives full of love and faith. I want them to know that they are deeply loved, not only by me but by a God who will never leave them. If I could leave them with just one message, it would be simple: "I love you unconditionally." No matter what happens, no matter where life takes them, I want them to always know that my love for them will never waver.
One of the most important lessons I have learned is that relationships are everything. The love we give and the love we receive—that is what truly matters in life. At the end of the day, it is not about wealth, achievements, or status. It is about the people we walk alongside, the moments we share, and the kindness we show.
If I could be remembered for one thing, I hope it would be this: that I loved my friends and family well. I want those who have known me to remember the warmth of my love, the way I cared, the way I tried to lift others up. More than anything, I want them to always remember that they are loved.
Life has been a journey of faith, resilience, and love. There have been joys and hardships, laughter and tears, but through it all, God has been faithful. I am grateful for every experience, every lesson, and every person who has been part of my story. And as I continue this journey, I trust that He will lead me every step of the way.
So, to those I love, I leave you with this: Please always remember. Remember to love fully, to trust in God, and to cherish the people around you. In the end, that is what matters most.
